1 Corinthians 9:24
"Run in such a way that you may win the prize."

Winning a race requires purpose and discipline. St. Paul uses this illustration of a 'RACE' to explain that the Christian life takes self-denial, hard work and commitment in following Jesus - Ref Luke 9:23

As Christians, we are not just running a mere race with physical and visible obstacles but running towards a heavenly reward, wading our way through mystical & invisible obstacles. These obstacles are not placed by men but by 'the enemy'- the devil. Ref Ephesians 6:12. The essential disciplines of regular prayer - (personal, family & community), Bible study and true worship equip us to run with vigour and stamina.

Don't merely observe form the grandstand; don't just turn out to jog a couple of laps each morning. Train diligently - your spiritual progress depends upon it.
