Matt 8:23-27 & Matt 14:22-32
They were amazed, saying "What sort of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?"
And those in the boat worshiped him, saying "Truly you are the Son of God."
A common definition of a Lifeguard is "A saviour to a person exposed to accidents in water" In our Earthly Life - a pilgrim journey we too have to wade through various seas (problems, difficulties, challenges, weaknesses & sin) and risk a chance of drowning. This phenomenon is not unique just to a selected few but we are all prone to it as it is written in (Romans 3:23) "We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" and (Romans 6:23) "The wages of sin is death" But Jesus came to save us all... Jn 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life" The same Jesus who walked on the water and calmed the seas most certainly is 'The Lifeguard' of our Life (Acts 4:12) to safely lead us to Eternal Life.
Just as Jesus in complete authority walked on the water and calmed the seas; He can definitely trample over our problems, difficulties, challenges, weaknesses & sin if we declare him Lord and Master over our lives and challenges.
Prayer:
You, who hold my every moment,
And calm my raging seas,
You who walk with me through fire,
And heal all my disease,
I trust in you!!!
