Jn 19:26-27

"Behold your mother".....

....."Woman, behold your son."

No one can live as an island,

Journeying through life alone,

Since we're most loved by a mother,

Jesus gave us His own.

Our dying Lord Jesus on the Cross gave us all 'His Mother' as His parting gift. A 'Mother' plays a very important role in our lives. So much value & importance is attached to a Mother that God himself uses 'Mother's love' as a benchmark to express the quantum of His love for us. Ref. - Isaiah 49:15.

We have all experienced the love and affection of an Earthly Mother and know deep within ourselves her importance in our lives. Similarly we also have been given Mary whom we can call "Mamma" - our Heavenly or Spiritual Mother. Just as our Earthly mother takes care of all our physical and material needs, we can be rest assured that Mamma Mary will take care of our Spiritual nourishment.

Prayer:

Be with us Mary along the way,

Guide every step we take,

Lead us to Jesus your loving Son,

Come with us Mary, come!

Holy Mary, Mother of God,

Pray for us, sinners,

Now and at the hour of our death.
