John 8:12
“I am the light of the world.Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness,
but will have the light of life.”
The darkness of evil never has & never will overcome God's Light. In the old testament the pillar of fire represented God's presence, protection & guidance for the Isralites crossing from "Death" in Egypt to "Life" in the promised land. Jesus called himself the Light of the World (John 8:12) and now He lights our path, so we can know how to live our life here on Earth and lead us along the path which will lead us to Eternal life.
